The Gatekeeper

IF YOU DARE GO ON AND LOOK

Oh what a story, and I  got to say my job is one you got to love. Early in the year having a few drinks at my local watering hole I happen to run into Dale there riding his triumph, and as I had run into him a few times in the past, we got to having a chat.

Dale it seemed had a real different job, and yeah it truly is that, so here is what that chat lead to and booking Dale in for a few pics.

Dale does not have a job like you or I, it is some what really different.

It may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it is real normal for Dale.

Dale works as the gatekeeper at the Toowong cemetery here in Brisbane, and yes you can book Dale for one of those tours, and it seems you do not have to be dead to take the trip.

Dale works for Ghost tours here in Brisbane run by Jack Sims, and Jack Sims was telling me the same thing happened to him driving past the local pub he happened to see this large black American hearse parked there, so he came and took a look and that is how Dale become a employer of Jack Sim’s Ghost tours.

So every Saturday night Dale gets himself ready and goes off to work like any other normal person, only his attire is far different then any of us wear.

He wears a very large cape, one that you see like the grim reaper, and after putting all that on, he has to then add fangs to his front teeth.

Oh yeah guess he must get the looks out there driving to work in his 1963 Pontiac Bonnieville  hearse and dressed up to kill many would say, he gets to pick up his clients and then take them off at dark to the oldest cemetery here in Brisbane.

I reckon one day I may take a trip on one of those ghost tours myself.

Dale has a large array of tattoos and one here in the photo with the crucifix is his latest, and he won a lot of trophies at the Vietnam Vets tat show in July and has his photo in Ozbike for that event. Dale got his fangs a few years back and reckons that the man that made them is real good at what he does, so if you need a new set of fangs look the guy up. Dnash address below.
